Patriots beat Titans in Ninth Consecutive Season Opener Win

AFC winning QB Tom Brady and the New England Patriots fashionably won their season opener against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday as Tom Brady threw 236-yards and two touchdown passes leading the Patriots to a 34-13 win over the Tennessee Titans. This will be the ninth consecutive season that the Patriots will be winning their season opener.

Both QB’s were hurt in the game with Titans QB Jake Locker sacked twice, and he eventually had to leave the game in the fourth quarter as he hurt his left should when he tackled Patriots safety Patriot Chung on a fumble return. The New England defense and offense put up a great performance as Tom Brady who had a broken nose in the game completed 23 of 31 passing attempts and threw for 236-yards and had two touchdown passes.

Tom Brady connected with Gronkowski all six times he targeted the Tight End, but running back Stevan Ridley outshined every offensive player as he had an outstanding game, rushing for 125-yards on 21 carries, and he also had a touchdown. Although the rookie defensive duo of Chandler Jones and Dont’a Hightower stood out among the Patriots defense, the New England defense had a great performance as a whole holding the Titan to only 284-yards, two turnovers, and 20 rushing. The Patriots successfully prevented Titan All Pro running back Chris Johnson from making an impact in this game as he could only manage four-yards on 11 carries.
